We decided to go camping a couple weeks ago, so we went out with our brother Gideon, and cousins, Josiah, Ezra, and Zach to Bad Medicine campground. We took the little girls and put them in the tent, and Joshua and I slept out on the air mattress, which was the most comfortable camping I've ever done! It was cold but well worth it. There's nothing like laying under a blanket of millions of stars as you fall asleep. Then in the morning you wake to the sound of the birds, and as you open your eyes, you are greeted by the morning sunshine filtering through the treetops above you. What a beautiful sight.
That afternoon, we went paddling around in our raft out in Bull lake, and Joshua tried some fishing. The fish were jumping all around us, but we didn't catch any. It was Mercy's first time out rafting, and she didn't take kindly to it. She screeched and screamed her disapproval. There was only one short spell where she didn't cry, and that was when she decided that the water was interesting to look at and finally fell asleep for a bit. But when she woke up she wasn't very happy to find herself still out in that raft! :) I think she especially hated that I put a life jacket on her. That was much too restricting! :)
