Where to start.....hm.....
I guess I'll start with the current happenings of my life.
I have been blessed to be able to stay home with my baby girl, Gloria, since she was born, almost a year ago! My parents have been really supportive since my husband left me, and they have let me stay with them, which has been wonderful. And God has really provided for me too. I am very glad for that, because I always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. I suppose I may eventually have to work for someone, somewhere, but at least I've been able to be with my little one full time during her babyhood days.
I do work from home somewhat. I love art, and so every once in awhile I get hired to do a piece for someone. Currently I am working on a large painting for my cousin.
I also have done a few furniture refinishing projects, and I enjoy that. I will probably do some more of that once the weather is good enough to paint and stain things. It's still a bit too cold here.
I was going to plant a big garden this year, and started some seeds a few weeks back. I was all excited about it, because I've always wanted to plant one, but I never had the time, because of work, and travel, and such things. So this year, my little brother and I were going to plant a huge one, (veggitable, and also a flower garden). But the other day my cousins from Alaska were here for a visit, and they invited me to come up for the summer. I agreed quickly, as I love Alaska, and those cousins. So I guess my brother is going to have to finish the garden himself! :)
I haven't decided when I'm going yet, but I am really excited about it. One of my brothers and I went up there and worked for the summer in 2004, and I just loved it. I guess it's just the country girl in me. It's so great being up there in the middle-of-nowhere, in a tiny little fly-in village. It's so beautiful there. I say it's like Montana with an ocean, because they have the beautiful big mountains and the ocean. The first and only time I've ever swam in the ocean was up there! :) Surf Yakutat's icy waves! That's their "theme". :) And it's great fun too. I decided that I like body boarding almost as much as skiing. The only thing I don't like about it, is the salt in the water. :P Yick. I'm used to the clear mountain lakes that we have here in Montana. Don't care much for that salt going down my throat. Anyway, I like it when you can just feel at home in a place, and everybody knows everyone, and you don't ever have to dress up, and no one looks at you funny for wearing your work clothes. I love places where I can wear my old blue jeans, hiking boots, and plain braided hair, and fit in. It's great.
It's just cool when the bank is in a double wide trailer house, and the jail is a rickety looking old shop building. When you can walk from one end of town to the other in about 15 minutes, and the fun thing to do is to go driving to the end of the (dirt) highway, or fourwheeling as fast as you can go down some careening little path. When you go swimming on some "hot" day (85 degrees) and half of the town is there too. Or you go out fishing (they do that for work) and basically the whole town is out there, all hoping to get the "big catch". You go to the store, and the big news is that so-and-so saw a great white shark (not usually in that location) and they even left pictures there for everyone to see. When you go to the dump, and have to drop your garbage there in the middle of five or more grizzly bears. When everyone is eating their staples...moose meat, fish, and seafood, and dreaming of a McDonalds meal. :) When you relax at the end of the day, in my cousins hot tub that he geniously made himself, and while he feeds the wood on the fire underneath, you sit there and enjoy the stars, and maybe some northern lights. I tell you, it's the life. :)
Anyway, I'm so glad for this opportunity! It'll be great.
God is so good!!!
This weekend was so awesome! We had some people come from out of town and do a conference, and God really moved there. The worship team was just incredible. They had such an annointing. I really enjoyed the whole thing. It's so neat when God's presence comes down.
They taught us a new song that I really liked. Here's part of it:
Where You go I'll go,
What You say I'll say,
What You pray I'll pray,
What You pray I'll pray.
(repeat)
Jesus only did, what he saw You do,
following Your heart, following Your spirit.
