Spring Skiing

Last Thursday we got to go skiing over at Blacktail , for the last time this year. I like that mountain, and Thursday was especially nice, because it was so clear and sunny, and the views of Flathead Lake and the Mission mountain range, were amazing!

My brothers, sister, mom, and my baby and I, went along with the homeschool group from Libby. It was so much fun! Mom, watched Gloria, (my baby), in the lodge, so I got to ski all day! I finally figured out how to turn without pizza-ing!!! Major accomplishment there! :) But then again, I had the worst crash, and only true wipeout, that I've ever had. My neck is still a little bit sore. But not as sore, I imagine, as the boy who was behind us. He went over a jump in the terrain park, and landed on his head! OUCH!! They had to e-vac him out. We were all watching them put him on the helicopter. I've never seen something like that before. I hope that he wasn't too terribly hurt. I think he had a concussion.

I was really impressed by my brother, Enoch. (That's not him in the pic, but it is the terrain park.) He got a season pass this year to our local ski mountain, and so he's been snowboarding alot this year. I was watching him in the terrain park, and he has really gotten good!! He was doing all kinds of stunts! (I don't get to ski much with him, or my other brother, Filip, because they are so much better than me.) Even my youngest brother has really improved. He used to be really afraid, and would go ever so slow. But Thursday, he was booking down those hills, and even turning like a pro. (He used to be too scared to turn while he was moving. So he'd have to stop and then turn.) It was fun skiing with him, and not having to wait much. :)

So now I have mixed emotions, because it's rather sad that skiing season is over, and now we have to wait clear 'till next winter to go skiing, but then again, that means it's spring, and I LOVE spring!!! Yay!!!

Friday was fun, because I got to go buy some new clothes, both for myself and my baby. I hadn't gone clothes shopping for myself in a long, long, time. I try to be content in all things, but every once in awhile, I look at my clothes, and don't feel like wearing any of them, because I've worn them all so many times, and I guess I just get tired of them after awhile. What can I say? I guess I'm American! :D And besides, when your pants are starting to get holes here and there, and blowouts in the knees or crotch.....I think it's time to move on! :D So it was nice to get something new, and of course, it is always fun getting cute baby girl clothes. :)

On Saturday, my mom and I gave my brother, Enoch, cornrows, because he's been wanting them for a long time. So we finally did it. Mom hadn't wanted him to grow his hair too long, but now that he's 18 they let him do a bit more, and she figured that it's not really a sin, just her preference, so she finally let him. I think he kinda likes having it a bit longer like that, because everybody tells him he looks like Orlando Bloom, myself included. He really did! What can I say?

Today we were having a discussion about giving. My dad had been reading a book that mentioned that it was not good to give all your available money to a missionary or someone, because then they said that you might have to ask someone else for money, and they said that's shameful. I've heard that taught before too. One speaker I heard said that you should never give on impulse, that you should always hear from God before you do. I just wonder about all that, because what about the widow and her two mites. Jesus really praised her for giving everything she had. And also the widow and Elijah. She was blessed because she gave all she had. God is a giver, and I don't see how it can ever be wrong to give. What is your opinion about that?
