Birthday #1!

I cannot believe that my little baby, who's not so tiny anymore, is a whole year old already! Time does fly!

We celebrated her birthday on Saturday, although yesterday was really her birthday. It was alot of fun. My grandparents, an aunt, and a couple of friends came over to celebrate with us. It was so cute to watch her open her gifts. She didn't really get it at first, and so my little sister took it upon herself (kind as she is :D) to help Gloria with opening them. But finally Gloria figured out how to tear the paper, and she would rip off tiny little pieces, one by one. I think she had just as much fun opening her gifts, as she did with the toys and things that were inside. :)

For her birthday, I made one tiny bear shaped cupcake for Gloria, a few other cupcakes and a regular cake. I think it was the best success I've ever had with decorating cakes. The last few times I've tried that, it turned out to be somewhat of a flop. I guess I need to invest in some good decorating supplies. That might help! :) Anyhow, I let Glo eat her cupcake all by herself, and she had a delightful time, and made a royal mess too! :) I wish that I could show a video of her eating it. But our dial up connection is too slow, so I guess photos will have to do. It was so cute watching her eat it. In the end she wound up with the plate in her face. I think she was trying to lick it. :D

Yesterday, I put Gloria in her new pink dress that someone got her for her birthday. I think she realized how pretty it looked, because she pranced around in it, flipped it up, and every time someone told her how pretty her dress was, she'd lift it up and flip it around. :) She was so cute.

I am so thankful for such a cute, sweet, little girl. It's great being a mom. I just pray that God will help me to raise her in the right way, and that she will always love Him.
